F.O. Handspun Scrappies

Image
The scrappy roving.                                                                       Singles. Project Details: I love the scrappy roving. Mostly because I find it very fast to spin (because it is different all the time). I never get tired of it because there is never anything that is the same. This was one of the scrappy clubs from Funky Carolina. 4 oz spun up into 252 yards of DK weight yarn.  Now ... what to do with it besides pet it and look at all the bright colors??

Spinning Tuesday!

Roving. Singles. I finally got some handspun done this year! I started this around valentines day and just finished. Roving is from Funky Carolina. The colorway is The Bitter Earth. 4oz of merino (80%) and silk (20%). I got 264 yards of DK yarn out of this and now I have to decide what to do with it. I'm amazed that something so bright as a roving would come out so muted.

FO Sewing Time!

I can't walk with Zooey in her caring thing until she is 8 pounds. So I went online and found a pattern for this Maya wrap . Super easy to make and she loves it!

FO Zooey's Stocking!

Image
Project Details: Started on March 11 (4 days before she was born). Finished on April 18th. This was from a kit (Annie's Woolens) which I have used before. But this one came out massive! You can see that it is probably 3 times as long as she is (guess Santa will have to put more gifts in it)! The yarn is 100% wool and I used size 10.5 needles. The only thing I changed was the heel and toe.

OMG

Let me just say oh my f$ucking god. A dear friend just dropped off these books for Zooey. Not only do they to rock but they are autographed. We are going to read them tonight!!

OMG Baby Brain

Image
Well let me tell you a little story. I was up at 2:30 am feeding the baby. Really I was like a zombie and lucky to find Zooey's mouth. Anyway - I was in my pjs with my favorite hand knit lounge around the house sweater on. Out of no where Zooey spit up. Vomited on my, her self, and my sweater. Not a big deal unless you are a brainless zombie and you do something stupid. My glorious 100% alpaca lounge sweater found its way into the washing machine. It was set to hand wash, which is normally okay except I left the spin and rinse on. I came back to the washing machine hours later to find my precious sweater had been felted. I'd like to cry over it - but I have a feeling it won't be the only baby brain loss in my future!

FO Stuffed Squid!

Image
Jelly fish or squid - you be the judge! Project details: Started on March 15 (the day I had Zooey). Finished today April 11. I know a long time but there is a baby in there. I used left over yarns and think that scraps are the way to go for this!

WIP Squid

I started this before Zooey was born - but it sure is slow going. You would think because I'm at home they I'd get a lot of knitting done ... But I don't. I spend my time doing a million other things. I hope to get this done soon though!

FO Crochet Baby Blanket!

Image
Project Details: I started this on March 28th and finished it on March 31st. I made it out of a machine washable bamboo blend that I picked up near the hospital here. Mike was telling me that Zooey was the only baby without a handmade blanket - hence I had to whip one up!!
