Quilt Bee Block

Image
August block is done. It is a cool star. The only issue was that once you cut all the pieces you then need to trim to 2 3/4" (this took me some time). I live how it came out though and I think I will be making it for a fall table runner!

FO (finally) through the loop socks!

Project Details: started as a knit along on January 2nd. Finished July 21st. I used Zitron Trekking Pro Natura sock yarn. I love Trekking! I made size M/L and used nearly all of the 459 yards. I did the simple foot - next time I might do the complicated foot.

Where Am I?

Image
I know.  Where did I run off to?  The tour is one and I'm suppose to be spinning it ... right?  Well  .....   I'm in a funk.  That is where I am. The roving I picked to spin is large and doesn't make me feel good (so I've just left it on the wheel and have done nothing). The knitting projects I have on the needles are all large and I feel like I'm making NO progress.  My current WIP list is: 1. Pullover sweater (I'm something like 5 inch into it) 2. TTL socks (I'm near the toes on both pair of socks) 3. Strawberry socks (I'm on the leg of sock #1) 4. Lace scarf (this is done with fine weight yarn and is taking forever!!) So out of these 4 projects I just feel like I'm getting no where.  My plan of attack has been to finish one of them and then start something small for Zooey.  I think maybe I'll get the TTL socks off the needles first.  But, this funk has to move out.  It really is messing with my crafting mojo!

FO Quilt!

Another UFO done! I hate having stuff around that isn't finished. This quilt is an eye stimulator for Zooey and half the blocks came from a quilt bee swap.

Tour de Fleece Day 5-7

Image
As the tour pounds up into the mountain stages today I have washed and finished up yet another roving.  4 oz of Funky Carolina.  Colorway Summer's End (dreaming of it you know).  It is a Superwash merino/bamboo/nylon blend.  I got 412 yards of fingering weight yarn out of it .... can you say SOCKS? Question for all of your spinners out there.  Do you figure out the gauge of the yarn before or after you wash it?

Tour de Fleece: Days 2-4

I finished spinning a bit more.  I was planning on making a pullover out of this roving but I'm not sure now I'll have enough.  I still have 5 oz to spin and with what I had I'm only up to ~600 yards.  We'll have to see what comes out in the end.  But, I'm happy to be working through my stash.

Leg Warmers.

Do these leg warmers make my legs look fat??

Baby Quilt

This quilt was a gift from a friend Ginger.  It is stunning and perfect for Zooey!  We found these great little clips for hanging baby quilts (the stars at the top).
