I have totally slacked on updates. I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff. But it has been a hot minute since I posted. Let’s cover the good.
I finished a few things. A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year. Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.

Now for the bad. I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me. One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).

In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy. Life is too short to work on projects we hate!

On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete. I might swap the sweater pattern. The plan for the week is coming together!
ColorSluthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16477453443106581096noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071303512965510686.post-73481774833436257382021-11-23T06:32:00.001-08:002021-11-23T06:32:22.220-08:00Week 20 YOP21 A week of FO. I feel slow. I see loads of people killing projects off their lists and I’m just moving at a snail pace. Knitting a scarf was probably a mistake for the first project on the list. But, I'm going to stick it out and try and finish before the end of the month.

I did finish hexi puffs. I took them and made this little lab quilt. It look me weeks on weeks to make this many and I thought it would come out larger. Instead it is a little lap thing. I will say it is warmer than all get out! The puff part of it really makes it warm. This was an item on my list to finish for this year. So that is good.

ColorSluthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16477453443106581096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071303512965510686.post-10174852023445046492021-07-04T08:22:00.003-07:002021-07-04T09:50:08.417-07:00FO Copy Cat Cowl (Handspun) YOP #2

I love the Copy Cat Cowl pattern for handspun yarn. Well I've decided to revamp the blog and get it back up and running for The Year of Projects. Why you might ask? Well because how else to post and keep track and work on getting everything done I want to? I started out following Anne's idea for how to pick yarn for the projects. Random numbers assigned to my stash. From there I mapped out projects and then mapped out months to get work done in. I'm sure this list will evolve over time. But, here is the plan for now.

July 1st 2021 - June 30th 2022

July - Drop Stitch Scarf

August - Fingerless mits

September - Selago Sunset

October - Rabbit Moon Cowl

November - Oak Grove

December - Diamond Chain

January - Flounce Cardi

February - Age of Brass

March - Be Simple Variations

April - Hitchhiker

May/June (catch up on all the projects that are running slow)

This is 12 stash yarns in 10 project. I'm sure some will go over a month (especially the socks). Besides these my plan is to finish:

1. Sweater I'm working on now

2. Put together the hexi blanket

3. Finish Tricia's quilt

4. Finish copy cat cowl

I, of course, have to wind yarn and that is something I hate. Fingers crossed it goes well.

ColorSluthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16477453443106581096noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071303512965510686.post-7968323174586367582018-02-03T09:00:00.001-08:002018-02-03T09:00:11.129-08:00FO Bee Hat

I dyed some yarn just for this hat. I wanted something yellow with a bit of brown in it and I think it came out really well. The pattern, Beeswax Hat, came out a bit loose, but I think that should be okay. It took nearly 250 yards a a while to knit (since the cables take a bit of concentration). Started on November 25th and finished on February 2nd.
Size 1 and 3 needles. I used left over yarns and made these cute rainbow mittens. The pattern was worth the price on Ravelry and I'm really happy with how they came out. Started on January 11 and finished on January 26th. I used something like 300 yards of solid and 250 of colored mini skeins. Started on August 23rd and finished on January 25th. This was my traveling just pick up shawl. Trivial to knit and a pain to drop stitches. The silk/wool blend of the Hedgehog singles was tough. I used 2 skeins of Silk/Merino Singles from Hedgehog Fibres.ColorSluthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16477453443106581096noreply@blogger.com0
