WIP Hallett's Ledge Sweater

Image
After finishing up the Cider Mills sweater I really felt like doing another. I had bought yarn and the pattern for this one. This is a Twist Collective pattern and a bit complicated reading - but so far it is going okay. Also the pattern calls for Rowan tweed but I decided to use a silk base. I think it might give it a dresser look.

FO Vivienne

Image
Project Details: Started on December 14 and finished on December 18. I used an interesting blend of cotton/milk ( Ella Rae Milky Soft ).  The button is on the back side and is a little monster.  I'm not sure I would say that the pattern was worth the $4 - but we will have to see once Zooey starts wearing it.

FO Felicity

Image
Project Details: I used delicious hedgehog fiber. Singles that are silk /merino. Only around 200 yards for this lovely hat. I cast on December 13 and finished on December 14. Super fast. I did modify the pattern by casting on 84 sts.

FO Gnome Hat

Image
Project Details: I used a nice thick yarn - cascade Eco. It only took a few hundred yards. The pattern has no gauge on it so I just used the recommended needle size. I started it on December 11 and finished the hat on December 12 but had to do the ties (so really December 13). This pattern runs large so Zooey will have to grow into it!

FO - baby mittens

Image
Yep. Another pair just in time for the holidays. Probably one of my favorite patterns to date!

FO - Chair Covers

Image
Our kitchen chairs are a strange shape and regular pads don't cover them well. I decided to recover them before the holidays. I love how they came out!

FO - Dana's Mimosa Top

Image
This is the Mimosa top from an Interweave magazine a few years ago. She started it and got part way through the back. I've finished it for her for Christmas. The only modification to the pattern was to make the torso longer.

FO - New Pattern 2013 Mittens

Image
Zooey's 2013 mittens are finished!  Pattern is free on Ravelry.  I used left over yarns for this and think you could easily make these for any little boy or girl in your life.

Do You Remember These Mittens?

Advent time!

F.O. Cider Mills Pullover

Image
Project Details: Cider Mill Pullover is the name of the pattern and let me tell you I LOVE IT!   Started on June 23rd and finished on November 19th (not really a knit worth that amount of time - but I had a lot going on).  It really would be a fast knit if you were to do it.   This sweater uses Rowan Felted Tweed which is a really nice feeling blend that is machine washable.  The edging is great and everything is done in the round.  The #1 thing I love about this pullover is that with normal yoke neck sweaters they pop up when you lift your arms.  Because of the way this is constructed it seems to happen less.  A perfect fall/winter sweater (which I will be wearing the crap out of).

Working Away!

Image
Guess what I've been working on - my little sisters wedding invitations. She wanted them hand sewn. I have 10 more to go. I wonder when I'll finish?

Thanksgiving RV Knitting.

Image
We are currently traveling to see both sets of Zooey's grandparents. This means some pretty good rv knitting. #1 I finished my secret pull over - but I need to fix the neck bind off (it is currently too tight). #2 A friend has cancer and her hands are suffering. She can't work on a holiday project she had planned (wrist warmers). So I'm going them for her. I'm one down and onto Rg second. I have two other holiday projects I'd like to work on.

FO High Chair Cushions

Image
This high chair was my husbands when he was a child. Of course it needed new cushions since then. My sister-in -law used it for her three boys. The cushions she used were cowboy themed. I'm not opposed to the cowboy themed pads, but we painted the tray red and the colors just don't work. We wanted something with bold colors and slightly geometric - that is when I found this great PAC man fabric. I think it works perfect!

Ode to Sleeves!

Image
I in general hate knitting sleeves. They seem to take forever and offer little reward (at least normally). But not this time. These sleeves are knit in the round and start at the wrist. I'm totally in love. Digging every round!

FO Baby Book

Image
Another cool fabric project from Spoonflower. A great ABC fabric book. Easy to make and Zooey already loves it.

Baby Crafting.

Image
It seems that Zooey is growing do fast I have a hard time letting go of some of my favorite outfits. These two night gowns are now too short. So I decided to turn them into dresses. A few more months of wearing!

Quilt Bee Blocks

Image
Well... I have good news and bad news on this front. The good news is that Septembers block was finished and looks great. Octobers though- well I messed it up twice and ended up not being able to send anything finished. Just pieces of fabric that were cut up. Very sad. Turns out my major mistake was at step two and there was no recovering.

FO Jubilee Scarf!

Image
Project Details: Started on March 24 and finished on October 14. Of course I didn't work on it non-stop. I used 2 skeins of pure silk from Jaeger silk. The yarn is do yummy! Size 6 needles were used and I made no modifications to the pattern!

RV Day 2

Image
Well I made some serious progress in my mystery pullover. I'm currently at the sleeves (which requires another pair of needles - which I don't have). I've now picked up this scarf (which is a Christmas gift). Can I finish it by the end of the weekend?? 1.5 skeins left.

RV Day 1.

Image
I'm making great progress on this pull over. I think I'll be on the arms tomorrow!

That Time Of Year!

Image
It is the October round of hubbies motorcycle race season. That means some good RV time - and of course knitting! Let the daily updates begin!

Toas Wool Festival

Image
This past weekend was the Taos wool festival.  We took Zooey up for her first encounter with alpacas, rabbits and a lot of fiber.  It was a perfect fall day with great friends and a lovely breakfast.  What more could you ask for?

FO Baby Vest

Image
Project Details: One skein wonder project. One skein of Rowan Felted Tweed (DK). So only 191 yards with size 7 needles. I started on August 25 and finished on October 5th. I added extra stitches and knit it a but longer. Should fit her at 1.5 or 2 years!

WIP Monday

Image
Well now that my thumb is feeling better I think I'll push to get more stuff done. Here is my progress on Zooey's vest. I'd like to finish it in a week!

FO Yearly Mittens!

Image
I finished these mittens for Zooey! I'll post the pattern later this week. Super fun and fast. I used left over sock yarn and need to now start the 2013 mittens!

WIP

Image
I was hoping to have mitten 2 done before my hand surgery - looks like that isn't happening!

WIP Festival!!

Image
Are you wondering how far I've made it with my goals? Well here we go! 1. First sock of Berry Patch is done. 2. 1 repeat of the scarf has been done(took longer than I thought!) 3. I didn't make it to the armpit of the sweater - but I did make progress! This weeks goal .... More knitting!

WIP Thursday

Image
I have made the least progress on this. I'm designing mittens for Zooey. I think I'm going to make her a pair every year with a theme and the year in them. These will be 2012 with owls. I wanted to finish them before fall. Not making fast progress though. New goal - cast on by Monday!!!

WIP Wednesday

Image
Well here is another UFO that needs attention. This scarf is planned as a gift for someone. Goal ... Well I'd like to do one repeat on it each week. Anyone can do that right??

WIP Tuesday

Image
I'm not going to be overly ambitious with this one. It is taking me some time. A full sweater just takes repeat after repeat. Goal is to hit the arm holes by labor day. Doable??

WIP Monday

Image
I figure to push myself I'll do a crafting work in progress each day this week. Today's work in progress are a pair of fun socks called Berry Patch. I'm onto the leg of the first sock. Goal for this week is to finish this sock!!

FO Yoda Hat

Image
Above are the pre-felted photos so you can get a feel for how large it was before felting. Project Details: I used cascade 220 heathers for this. A nice green color and size 13 needles. I started on August 18 and finished on August 25. I found the pattern easy to follow and you could felt this down to nearly any size. I only used about 3/4 of a skein of yarn as well.

Bowls With Boarders!

Image
There is this great blog hop that I joined. It is called bowls with boarders. Regina came up with this great paper piece pattern - which I used to stack them this high.  Please check out all the other bowls for today! Birgit H. Vicki B. Monika G. Scher (no post) Dorothea Rosa Patch. The Love Of Sewing Nuclear Knits Cottage-Quilt Cattinka Hill Valley Quilter Ninis Patchwork   I wanted a table runner but didn't want to keep stacking bowls - so I decided to take my favorite fabric and use it on the other half. After that I decided my love of hexagons had to come out as well.  This was an incredibly fun project!  You should check out the rest of the bowls on the site.  So impressive!
