Here is my progress on the New England Knits Vest. I'm making slow progress ... but it is coming along and I really like the pattern. I'm 2 repeats into it and thinking I might have it done in time for fall!

MIA - Returning.

I've noticed that I don't post as often as I used to. Spotty. Mostly because I'm working on things I can't really share. But, why not share what I can? Right? Well I got a new sewing table over the weekend. Please don't judge the messiness of the room - I haven't even finished putting stuff away. But, my it is nice to have some place large enough to cut and sew again!

Fabric Work.

Image
I've been working hard on bags this weekend. These were a special order set - where the fabric was picked out ahead of time by the customer. They came out amazing!

Work - Work - Work.

I know that out there in blogger land you are wondering ... is she ever going to finish anything? How can she have so many projects going and finish so few. Well...I do finish projects ... but I can't share a lot of them with you. So here is what I've been up to this weekend. First I finished this baby quilt. The front is trees and owls and the back is a landscape of the moon. It is a raggy quilt ... which I love making (another baby shower). Another project finished - can't share much - but very fun and the pattern will be on Ravelry at some point.

Wow. What People Make!

Creativity

A fellow blogger had a link which was a test on creativity . I took it and it said this about my creativity. Creativity is a release For you, creativity is first and foremost a form of expression: it creates a special link between the internal and external worlds. It allows you to get a grasp of your powerful emotions, by moulding them into a physical form. In fact, the most important thing for you is to be able to release your emotions. You need to be able to touch them or look at them in concrete form, and to do that you have to find a way to make them come alive. This is how your desires and anxieties take shape. Keeping things bottled up creates a tension that can only be resolved once you have expressed how you feel. This means you have to be strong enough not to let yourself get swept away by chaotic impulses; if you turn your creative urges on everyday life — making a picnic, singing to the baby, choosing what to wear — you can express yourself while staying rooted in reality. ...

W.I.P August 16

Well I've finished mitten one of the Bella Mittens #2. I was hoping to have these done by the end of the weekend. No such luck though. I'll see if I can get through the next mitten this week. They don't take a long time - I just need to sit down and work on them. I cast on for the New England Vest that I'm excited about. I finally got all the gauge stuff worked out and am doing 2 strands of a bulky yarn. The orange color I think will have a lovely fall look. Lastly I'm working on a secret project. Yep. Another one. Here is the yarn I'm using.

Crap photo - I know. But, I promised a fellow knitter that I would get my butt in gear and work on my second pair of Bella Mittens. So .... I'm working on them :) Finished the second cable and am cruising. My goal will be to have them done in a week or so.

F.O. SECRET

Image
That is right. The secret test knit is finished. I started on July 30th and finished today August 9th. I used handspun, which was totally the way to go. At some point I'll tell you more - until then. Just know that the pattern was fantastic, perfect and lovely. Great fast project!

W.I.P - Where Have You Been?

Image
So I was online and remembered .. I haven't updated my blog in like - well forever! Are you wondering what I'm working on? Well here is a taster. This doesn't include the baby hats or New England knits ... but just some of the projects that I'm currently cranking through. Should I slow down? Fewer projects? Maybe ... but doesn't seem in the cards for right now!

F.O. Baby Socks

Image
I needed a little something more for this baby shower today. I whipped these socks up in a day. They came out really cute and I think the parents will enjoy them. I just used left over stash yarn. Pretty fun to do - although I hate knitting under a deadline.
