F.O. July Mystery 220 - Summer Hat

Image
Project Details: This is July's Mystery 220 project. A summer hat. I wouldn't have ever decided to knit a hat like this - but it was interesting and fun. I learned how to do a new method for picot edging (which was pretty cool). I started on July 5th and finished on July 23rd. I like getting little clues once a week. I used Cascade Pima cotton and it took nearly 220 yards total. I'm still waiting for them to update with what the pattern is called.

F.O. June Mystery 220

Another FO to report. This was June's Mystery 220. Project Details: Turns out this is Infinitely Simple Lace Infinity Scarf. I used Jo Sharp alpaca kid luster yarn. I bought 2 skeins of the yarn to see if I liked it. I'm glad I used it for a small project and didn't buy a ton of it, because it really doesn't have a very good feeling to it. I started on June 5th and finished on June 17th. It took 2 skeins, which works out to be 242 yards. Interesting design - I'm not sure I would have picked up this pattern had it not been a mystery!

F.O. Mystery 220 May - Revealed

Well I've finished the mystery 220 project from May (have I said how much I love this group?) Project Details: Started on May 1st and finished on May 15th (quick knit). It took 220 yards of fingering weight yarn and is done with drop stitches. There is even a little ruffle at the bottom. I think it is officially called a shawlette. The pattern is Storm Cloud Shawlette and is free on ravelry. Great use of left over fingering weight. I used Bristol Yarn Gallery Buckingham baby alpaca yarn (so it is really really soft).

W.I.P April 16

I finished clue 3 of Mystery 220 KAL. I'm pretty sure these are mitts of some kind. I can't wait for the last clue! Hopefully next week. Also they need to be blocked so that you can see the cute edging.

W.I.P April 12 - Weekend Recap

Image
This is a secret design project. Still on the needles and still super hush hush! I finished up these socks on Monday morning as we drove home (there was too much wind to travel on Sunday). Project Details: The pattern is called Nutkin and is really easy to memorize and work while watching tv. I did two pairs of socks at the same time (which made it seem like they went faster). These are a gift for the Sole Sisters group that I'm in. I used Liberty's Bluetopia yarn called Ketchikan (had to buy it being an Alaskan girl). Started on March 12 and finished on April 11. I couldn't understand the patterns heel or toe (so I used my standard one). Other than that I followed the pattern. I sure hope by buddy enjoys these. During our weekend track/RV trip I finished clues 1 & 2 for Aprils Mystery 220 KAL. I know that for people who did these with a solid color you could make out more - but I love the bright colors and the pop of each of them. Waiting for clue 3.
