FO Sweater

Just a quick update and more photos/details to come.  But my holiday sweater is done!!

FO Kevin The Stuffie

Image
Here is another holiday gift for Zooey.   Project Details:  a kit from my LYS.  I started on November 2nd and finished on November 6th.  Quick and fun.  Size 8 needles and a piecing nightmare!

FO Bike Tire Repair Kit

Image
Mike wanted a kit for dirt biking.  Here is what I came up with.  He is really happy with it and I made a second one for his friend!

FO Owl Stuffie

Image
Another holiday project finished!  This will go in Zooey's stocking.  It is the baby version of the adult stuffie I did for her last year.  This came as a kit from KnitWhits - and took one day to knit.  The assembly took a while!

FO Eyelet Scarf

Image
Another holiday gift done!! Project Details:  Started on October 17 and finished today October 26th.  I didn't just work on this, but I did focus on it the past week.  Went really fast.  I used size 8 needles and all the yarn I had left from the last fingerless mittens.  Now ... onto more holiday knitting!

FO Toast Mitts

Image
Just a quick holiday project as a gift of course.  200 yards with 40 sts cast on.  Hope the person who gets them likes them!

FO Thunderstruck Shawl

Image
Project Details: This was a mystery shawl KAL.  Super fun and pretty fast.  Started on September 4th and finished today October 13.  I used two skeins of DK yarn on size 7 needles.

FO Sock Rug

Image
I made this from a 110 mini skeins and a few full skeins. Project Details: Started on august 30 and finished last night October 5th.  6000 yards on sock yarn was used.  The patter calls for holding 8 strands together.  I only held 4 for mine. Zooey and the cat love it!!

FO Halloween Hat

Image
Project Details: Originally queued: November 22, 2012.  Started on September 13 and finished on September 15.  Super fast and fun knit.  I wanted something fun so I used a yarn with bling!  This is part of Zooey's Godzilla costume for Halloween. It is hard to get a good picture of it (since Zooey is just running around with it on).  The only modification I made was making the hat 3" from the ribbing before starting the decreases.

FO Tiny Tea Leaves Sweater

Image
Project Details: Started on August 13 and finished today (September 6th).  I used 4 skeins of Misti Alpaca Worsted solid yarn (425 yards).  I still need to find buttons for it (there are two holes).  But, this will be Zooey's Christmas sweater this year.  I made no modifications to the pattern.  It was perfect.

FO T-Shirt

Image
Because of project 333 I decided to repurpose this shirt for Zooey (plus it would be a great time to test out my serger).  I looked high and low online for a free t-shirt pattern and couldn't find one that was the right size and/or style.  I decided to wing it.  Here is what happened! I wanted it longer - the serger didn't work like I thought and the sleeves were a bit big in dimension - so I pleated them a little. Overall I learned a ton and will be ready for the next one!

FO Scarf/Shawl

Image
Project Details: This is one of my "must knit something with handspun".  I started on May 17th and finished today August 23rd.  The pattern is Emerald Starling .  Super fast and fun to knit.  I've decided that this would be a birthday gift for a friend.  This was the TDF handspun from Into The Whirled - Starcrossed.  The stripes are a bit much for me - but overall I think it came out pretty.

FO Stuffed Animal Pillow

Image
Anyone with a small kid knows you get lots of stuffed animals.  Zooey plays with some - but others not yet.  I read about this pillow and thought it would be perfect.  I didn't follow the instructions for the clear plastic top (thinking Z would prefer to sit on fabric).  You can read all about making these pillows at Sewing The Littleheart Collection . In other weekend sewing I added ribbon to these pants that needed an extra inch of length and I tacked up a pair of capris! Great projects this weekend!

FO Wedding Quilt

Image
Finally done and ready for my sister!  Her wedding quilt.  Each block is 27" square - which is just massive.  But I think the love ring pattern looks nice.  The quilted pattern is snowflakes.  Now I just need to see her to give it to her!  Oh and it is king sized!

FO Woobie Kitty

Image
Project Details: started on June 19 and finished on July 30.  A baby gift for a friend!  I like this pattern.   It is easy to follow and fun to knit!

FO 4th of July Dresses

Image
I decided to start these after getting a load of vintage fabric and patterns. Zooey's dress is made from fabric that says 1970 on the edge and the pattern was one that Mike's mother gave me that she made for him when he was little (the overall version though).  The dress took an hour to assemble and about 30 minutes to cut out.  Not too long at all.  The chest of the dress is a bit big - but I think she will grow into it. Mine is 100% polyester. For a hot night this night be a mistake. I haven't decided if I was to wear a belt and petty coat with it yet or not. It might be a bit too moomoo for me right now.

FO Baby Blanket

Image
While at home today waiting for the AC guys I got a lot of sewing done. Here is a baby blanket for some friends.

FO Low Tide Cardigan

Image
Blocked and Finished Project Details : Low Tide Cardigan.  Started on May 12th and finished on June 16th.  I've also liked to look at when I queued patterns.  This one was queued on December 27th 2012.  It looks like I queue things and often start them early after that. I used 5 skeins of Koigu Painter's Palette Premium Merino (which is fingering weight) on size 5 needles.  There was a lot of funky construction to this top and I'm not sure I like the finish on the sleeve ends or the bottom. After I first blocked this I hated it.  You can see in the photo below that the left and right side are not even and it is way too large!  I got it moist again and dried it for a bit.  This didn't help much - but for some reason when it fully finished drying it looked much better. Looking crappy with pjs and too large!

FO Skirt

Image
This is some great fabric from Spoonflower.  The skirt came as a print kit.  Which means that you basically cut out and then sew together.  I picked vintage buttons to sew on.  It wraps - but not really.  The print on the back is massive and fun.  I'm going to wear this this week.  Next is the other 5 kits from Spoonflower I ordered forever ago.
