F.O. Yogini Bolero

Image
This was a KAL with my buddy Robin from Yarn Crawl . We decided to knit up a bunch of Wendy Bernard, this was the first. Project Details: Started on September 22 and finished on October 22. I used Brooks Farm Acero yarn. It is fingering weight yarn, but I held two strands together at once. I had 3 skeins of gray and one skein of the multi color. This used 1680ish yards (but remember the real yardage is about half of that). This was a fast knit and I think I'll be wearing it as a layer piece. It is currently blocking and I think the length in the chest will be a bit longer once it is finished blocking. I also made the sleeves 3/4 length instead of full length. I figured this would make it more usable during transition months. Next on the list from Wendy will be something from her book!

October Club.

Image
I joined this October Club. Each kit comes with a sock yarn (or roving you get to decide). A bag and loads of goodies. This is this weeks. Each week for four weeks a package shows up and it is amazing. I can't believe how quickly October is flying by - and I only know it is cruising so quickly because of these packages. Twiggi Knits is the lady who has the club, but to join you'll have to wait another full year! Worth the wait though.

W.I.P October 19

I'm making progress on the bolero. I'm getting close to finishing up the second sleeve. After that I just need to do the trim and it will be done. I'm hoping by the end of the week to have this finished. I've finally figured out exactly what is happening with my secret sock pattern. Thank goodness because I thought I was going to freak out and have to kill it. I got my row done on the crochet blanket this weekend. Keeps me from having to do the painful leg toss exercises with Katie. I'd say that I'm 3/4 of the way finished with it as well!

Sunday Knitting!

Image
You know what knitting looks like on Sunday nights in our house? Fire, pink slippers, kitty and yarn. Great night.

I took this photo just so you couldn't make out the colorway or really much of the pattern. Just a sneaky little shot to show you something that I'm currently working on. For those of you out there still wondering ... yes the Yogini sweater is coming along. I'm probably only 2 inches from finishing the second sleeve and then the trim. I know, I really should work harder to finish it!

Progress is slow, but with one row a week I am getting along on this blanket. You can see some bright colors are coming in. I probably only have a good 5 or 8 rows before I am out of yarn (which will be my stopping point). I'll have to keep you posted.

Spinning Wool.

Image
This is 100% wool (which I've never really worked with before) called Dragon's breath I think. It is from a buddy on ravelry. Check out her site ! I had to fluff it up a lot before spinning it and am having a hard time keeping it even. But, I'm learning and lot and enjoying the great red/orange fall colors.

W.I.P October 4th.

I'm working on sleeve one of the Yogini Bolero. I hope to have the majority of the first sleeve done by the middle of the week. Maybe I'll get the second one started by the coming weekend. I feel pretty happy with how it is coming though.

Going Green ...

Image
As I've posted before I have some groovy going green lunch snack bags. I have a few that are Halloween themed right now. In case you need something just for the end of the month!
