Anne's Purple - Hand Spun.

Image
I just finished this hand spun (superwash merino top - purchased from Anne). I have something like a pound left. This is 3 oz sport weight and 264 yards. I'm thinking that slowly over time I'll spin up more (the same weight) and make a vest or sweater out of it.

W.I.P September 27th.

Image
I started the Slanted Gretel Tee (for this falls Interweave magazine) on August 30th. It has sort of been in hibernation since I cast on. I decided to take some time and work on it this weekend. I'm not probably 20% done with it. The pattern is easy enough to remember and fun to knit. I hope to be a few balls into it by the end of the weekend. Seems like I might not have enough yarn (this project is eating them up).

F.O. Holiday Clogs III

Image
I finished these clogs up yesterday (took me till today to trim the felt and put the snowflake on them). Project Details: 4 skeins of Cascade 220. 25 minutes to felt in the washing machine. Started on September 21 and finished on September 25th. I knit them on size 15 needles and did the needle felting and bead work after they were felted. I'm sure that Courtney will love these! I'm not sure I'll use white again for these clogs (seems like they felt funny or it is just more visible).

Cast On.

Image
Last night I decided to cast on for my last hand-spun (from the Oceanwinds Knit kit, Diego Rivera). I found this lace scarf pattern on my pattern of the day work calender. In the pattern you can use 2 colors and beads. I decided to do neither and just see the wave lace pattern come out on its own. Of course being lace you can't really see the pattern until it is blocked - but I'm 1.5 repeats in and really liking it so far.

Friday Spinning?

Image
I've decided to spend a large portion of Friday spinning this week. I can now spin multiple fibers at one time now that I have a plethora of bobbins.

F.O. On-Hold Toe Up Sock.

Image
I had a 2 hour meeting this afternoon and decided to knock out the KAL On-Hold Toe Up Sock. Project Details: Made with Liberty's Yarn Jabbersocky - colorway Lily. Started July 19th and finished September 24th ... 2 months ... who spends 2 months knitting a pair of socks?? The On-Hold sock pattern was easy and fun (although I wish I had done the lace pattern on the back of the sock). And who says I never finish a KAL.

Gone Mad!

Image
After needle felting my first ring I decided that needle felting is the way to go on my felted slippers. Here is my first set. I decided to do a design on just one side so that the owner will know right from left. In other news my third pair of holiday clogs are half way done. Slipper #1 is complete and ready for felting!

FO - Felted Ring.

Image
Project Details: From the book Alterknits Felt. My first attempt at needle felting. I used Fiber Trend roving and it took about 20 minutes to make. Turns out that when you needle felt the fiber shrinks. I had to make this twice the length from where I started. Note for the next ring.

More Purchases.

Image
While down in Santa Fe I got a bit of roving and felting needles - oh and a new magazine to boot. Ready to work on more holiday projects now.

Delivery Day.

Image
There were a load of boxes on the front step this evening (mostly birthday presents for my nephews - but some things for me). A yarn bowl from Branch Designs . I love all of her stuff - but decided on the bowl. She also sent a free gift with it. The shipping was a bit expensive (but Canada post is that way). The bowl showed up fast and perfect (gnomes included ... which I'm a freak for).

Yep - yarn for set of clogs Number 3.

F.O. Holiday Clogs

Image
Yep. Pair number 2 for the holidays. DONE DONE DONE. These only took 25 minutes to felt and 4 skeins (of 200 yards) - cascade 220 heather yarn. They also need to be defuzzed. They got a bit fuzzy in the washer. Are these clogs or hats??? Now should I cast on for another pair or wait and work on a project for me??

Clog II - Part 1 - Done.

Image
Yep - on the drive down to Lowe's today I got the first clog done! Totally done and ready for felting. I've cast on for clog two and am part way through the first inner sole. YIPPY for fast knits!

W.I.P September 19th

Image
This is holiday clog II - which is planned as a gift. Of course I didn't really realize how the colors were going to blend together ... but I'm hoping it looks cute once I felt them. First slipper is done - except for the second sole and assembly.

Holiday Clogs Part II

I know these look like a big mess and very Halloweeny ... but the colors are a bit funny in the photo. These are my second pair ... planned as a gift!

New Pattern - Bobbolicious Scarftastic

On the sidebar you'll find a new pattern( Ravelry Link ). I really enjoyed knitting it up and plan to wear it all winter. Maybe soon - since it is freezing out!

Ahhmmmm - FO Knit2Together Jumper

Image
Well this project has been on the needles since November 13 2008 - it is actually still on the needles. I tried this dress on after Rebbecca finished it (and really liked how it fit), but I decided to be a big girl and knit my own (we bought the yarn at the same time and just inverted the pattern). Well Rebbecca asked me if I was interested in doing a swappero - my 6" into - for her finished. Ah ... the pleasures of "finishing" a project.

Flights Canceled.

Image
So our flight this morning was canceled - we got to Chicago when we should have landed in PA. Now that we are here - they have delayed the next flight by 3 hours and they say it may get canceled. Alas, I finished the bobblicious scarf - out of my Neapolitan handspun. Pattern coming soon!

Airplane Knitting

Image
Let me start off by saying straight wood needles are not the best for flights. I've poked the guy next to me twice. I do however intend to finish up my surprise knit on this flight!

Butterfly Specs and Images

Image
I know - I'm really in my pjs and still taking the photo - but at least it is a photo on. Project Details: Started June 14th (my birthday) and finished September 7th (almost 3 months ... ouch)! I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran yarn (the first time I've used this and I really really loved it). I made the sleeves 1.5" longer than the pattern called for. I made size 32 and the pattern is out of Knit2Together. Size 8 and 9 needles were used. I still need to block it (once more) - but it feels like heaven and I think that I'll use this yarn again.

F.O. Butterfly Pullover

Image
Oh thank goodness - off the needles. I have yet to actually try it on. That will be for a time when there is no pj bottoms. But, it is finished and I'm happy with how it looks. I'll re-block it and try it on tomorrow! Back of pullover. Front of pullover

W.I.P September 6th

Image
I'm cranking through the butterfly pullover. Now that the front and back are blocked - all I need to do is finish up the sleeves. My goal is to have the sleeves done by tomorrow afternoon. I like to do sleeves at the same time (which makes them less than fast to knit) - but it means that once I'm done - I'm done!

Project On The Move.

Image
Could you call this a WIP - possibly. It has been taking me so long though that I'd just call it something I'm working to get off the needles. I finished up the back yesterday and blocked both the front and back. Now I just have the two sleeves to go and then I can piece it together and do the collar. Hopefully I get this done with in the next week or two. Really the problem is that I don't like UFOs.
