F.O. Giant Granny Square Blanket

Image
Project Details: I used Sugar n' Cream cotton yarn balls for this. It took 37 skeins which is 4400 yards of yarn. Yep. A heck of a lot of yarn. This is nearly king size and oh so heavy and feels great on your lap. I started June 11 and finished it on November 3rd. Five months. I know that seems like a long time - but I wasn't working on it all the time. I love this so much I might make another one.

W.I.P November 1st.

I'm making some serious progress on the giant granny square blanket. I hope to finish it up this week. I'll take photos of it out and large and pretty once I finish!

Progress is slow, but with one row a week I am getting along on this blanket. You can see some bright colors are coming in. I probably only have a good 5 or 8 rows before I am out of yarn (which will be my stopping point). I'll have to keep you posted.

This is the large granny square afghan that I've been working on since summer. A girlfriend, Katie and I have an agreement that we get stuck doing extra push-ups and sit ups if we don't do a row each week. Each row that we finish is longer than the previous. Hopefully this means that I finish it sometime this year!

I'm making some good progress on the giant granny square blanket (although it is a bit hot to be working on it). I got some great stitch markers from Jill and ordered some more for my self. This Weeones shop has just the cutest stuff! I started spinning up 4oz of some delicious chocolate strawberry roving from Anne . I know it isn't called that ... but is is so great it reminds me of sweets! More on this once I finish!

I read a blog post about a giant granny square blanket and just couldn't help myself. I have to make one. The colors, the crochet pattern. It is a blast! I've already realized I wont have enough yarn and have had to order some more. More cotton Peaches & Creme. How to organize the colors though??? Here is my one day progress. This thing is addictive! I might need a four step program just to stop working on this.
