FO Cranky Scarf

Image
Just another quick cranky scarf.  I've figured out that tightly twisted yarn and the machine hate one another!!!

FO Cotton Dress

Image
I got a great book last Christmas filled with simple sewed outfits.  Ways to mix and match patterns to crest stuff you like.  This was my first project.  From start to finish it took only 2 hours.  A lot of that was pattern tracing.  Overall I like the 60's gel of the dress and the pattern is fun.  I wish that I had made the top a bit smaller and the dress a bit longer.  Next time!  Hard to tell in the photo but it does have a nice little split neck and the straps are funky and overlapped.

FO Hitchhiker

Image
This was a fast and fun knit.  One trip overseas and it knitted right up. Project Details: Started on November 10th.  Finished on November 24th.  One skein of sock yarn on size 5 needles.  I might have to make this again!!

FO Mittens

Image
Project Details:  a quick and easy pattern from Ravelry.  Size 3 needles with fingering yarn held together.  Zooey's 2015 mittens are done!!!  Started on October 29 and finished November 6th.

FO Fingerless Mitts

I've now made these twice and finally put the pattern up on ravelry.  Quick, fun and perfect for handspun!!

FO: Holiday Sweater

Image
Seems like I'm only updating once a month or so.  Sorry about that.  Life is pretty crazy around here.  Project Details: Started on September 15th and finished on October 26th.  I used Cascade wool singles (we will have to see how the yarn does).  Size 8 needles so it did go quickly.  Can't wait to put Zooey in it.

FO Adult Tea Leaves Sweater

Image
Project Details: Started on July 13th and finished on September 14th.  Took me too long, but with a toddler and kittens I'm amazed I finished.  Size 7 needles and delicious Hedgehog single fiber.  Colorway is Hunter and took 4 skeins (1004 yards).  This need a nice bath and blocking, but I think it will be a great holiday sweater!

FO Elf

Image
Project Details:  Super fast knit.  Took one skein of Classic Elite Yarns Toboggan.  Which feels great and I hope wears well.  I always wanted an elf hat .  One day to knit.  Size 10.5 needles and just what the doctor ordered. In the past 2 weeks I have started 2 sweaters and have frogged both.  Either because I hated the yarn and pattern together or because the pattern was written so poorly there was no way for me to make forward progress.  I have another one lined up to start tomorrow.  Let's see how it goes!  Wish me luck.

FO Eucador Sweater!

Image
Project Details:  Started on March 23rd 2013 and finished on June 26th 2014.  Yes a long time, but it was sitting untouched for a while.  I do love how it drapes and fits now that it is finished and blocked, but fingering weight yarn just takes forever!  Took 3 skeins of sock yarn on size 7 needles.  I made the sleeves 3/4 length instead of long or short.  I like the end product but I would never do this again.  Painful!

Where In The World?

Image
It is June first and you might be wondering where I've been.  Well I've been here.  Knitting and crafting away.  The fingering sock sweater is going so slowly that progress is really at a glacial pace.  I've cranked out a couple pairs of socks and scarfs.  But, otherwise I really want to get this dang sweater done.  Anyone want to finish it for me???

I've decided to put my crossstitch on hold for a while and pick up this sweater that has been waiting for me!

FO Zooey Dress/ Eileen Dress

Image
Project Details: Started on February 3rd and finished on April 4th.  It really didn't take me that long, since I was mixing in cross stitch at the time.  I had three balls of delicious sock yarn from Elann ( baby silk ).  The pattern is called Eileen Dress (although this is more like a long shirt more than a dress).  It is really soft and I think will be good for spring and into summer.  I followed the 18 month size for the top and 24 month for the width at the bottom.  I'll try to post a photo of her in it.

WIP Update

Wondering what I'm working on?  A dress for Z and a needle point!

FO Wool Dress!

Image
Simplicity pattern 3673.  Super simple and fast.  Took an afternoon really.  Sorry for the grainy photos. I had a few yards of wool I bought a while back.  Worked perfect for this!

FO Sleigh Ride Sweater

Image
Project Detail: 9 skeins of Rowan Felted Tweed Chunky - 495 yards.  Size 10.5 needles.  I made the size 40" chest (small).  But it is not 40" at all!  Fits okay on a medium frame.  Started on December 12 and finished on January 22nd.  Fun to knit!

FO Fingerless Mitts

Image
Project Details: I had a great skein of handspun 100% angora yarn.  It was around sport weight and I did these on size 3 needles.  Only took ~150 yards or so and I invented the pattern as I went.  I think my swap buddy will like them.

FO Kids Hat

Image
Project Details: Simple Beanie Hat.   Started on January 24 and finished January 26.  Fast knit with hand dyed yarn.  Size 5 and 6 needles.  This is a bit on the tight side - I measured her head to be 17.5" and that is what I knit - but tight nonetheless.  Next time a bit bigger.

WIP Tuesday

I'm currently working on this sweater with yummy Rowan yarn.  How about you??

FO Dog Sweater - ON THE MODEL!

FO Dog Sweater

Image
I've never made a dog sweater before - and this was pretty fun.  A friend requested it for her aging dog. Project Details: Wurstwarmer Dog Sweater .  Started on December 14th and finished on January 7th.  Not a super long knit.  I didn't like the wrapped stitch pickups that you can see around the chest of the sweater.  If I ever make this again I will use a different technique.  It took 2 whole skeins of Knit Picks Galilelo (262 yards) on size 6 needles. I liked how this pattern had a section that you measured your dog for.  I hope it fits my friends dog.  I'll post photos if I get any!
