WIP Tiny Yarns!

Image
Currently I have way too many projects on the needles that use lace, fingering or more fingering weight yarn. I'm trying to decide if I should push through these projects or cast on for something else. Thoughts?

FO CO2 Holder

When my hubby is mountain biking or dirt biking he uses these CO2 containers to inflate his tires. They rattle around in his bag. So I made him this little container. The canisters slip into little sleeves and the flap velcros down.

Indie Dyers

So I love certain yarns.  I think most of us that knit do.  We have things that we check to see if they are on sale.  I also happen to buy certain yarns and then hate them.  I've never published a list of these - but I'm now thinking it might be nice to review certain yarns and let people know what I think about them (so that they can either try them out or ignore them).  My first set of reviews will be on Indie Dyers.  These are people who dye yarn in their kitchen, shops or otherwise just by hand (these are not in any order). 1. The Wacky Windmill : She has a nice listing of sock and lace yarns.  The colors go from gentle to popping bright.  I love some of her bases as well.  Some of her thicker gauge yarns only come in 1-2 skeins though (which is never enough to do much with).  That would be my biggest complaint.  Currently she has a 35% off coupon up (save35). 2. Hedgehog Fibres : I just can't stop myself with Hedgehog....

FO New Pattern - Handspun Mittens

Image
I've published a new pattern .  This is based on lumpy handspun I had from when I was first learning to spin.  I think there should be more simple patterns out there for making the beginning spinner feel like they are making progress.

WIP. A lot!

I have a number of knits on the needles. I can't seem to find just one I'm really into. 1. Socks - on the foot and getting close to the heel. 2. Twist Collective sweater - sort of on hold because it is a winter sweater. 3. Low Tide Sweater - made with fingering weight yarn it is taking done time. Two front panels are done. 4. Eucador - another fingering sweater. The back is done and I'm just plodding along. 5. Emeral Scarf - done in handspun fingering. A cute geometric scarf that I just cast on for. I feel like maybe I should cast on for a baby top as well.

FO Tunic Dress

Image
This dress went fast and fits perfect! Project Details : Started on May 8th and finished on May 12th.  I didn't work on this non-stop (so I'm sure you could knit if faster if you focused on it).  I used left over linen yarn and modified the pattern to fit a 12 month old.  Size 6 needles and a gauge of 4.5 sts/inch.  I cast on 100 sts and knit this in the round.  The top of the dress was with 4 sts (not the 6 the pattern called for).  I also knit the dress longer and the top longer.  I think Zooey will be wearing this a lot this summer.  Lastly I think I'm going to embroider some little flowers at the bottom.

WIP Dress ... Frogged!

Image
I started this dress for Zooey and everything is just wrong. I don't like the pattern, the yarn doesn't work for the pattern and I'm just hating it. Life is too short for this - so I'm frogging it!

Project Details: First please ignore the photo of it on - I'm in my pjs!  I just wanted you to see how it fits.  This project used 2 skeins of hedgehog DK (332yards - I know ... nothing right)!  I used size 9 needles and made sure to get all of the errata from the website.  I worried that the sleeves were going to be too big - but they are not.  With the single skein I have left I might make one for Zooey.  I started this on April 16th and finished on May 2nd.  I would make this again in a heart beat.  I love it.  I think I'm going to wear it today to a craft fair up in town.
