Currently I have way too many projects on the needles that use lace, fingering or more fingering weight yarn. I'm trying to decide if I should push through these projects or cast on for something else. Thoughts?
I don't think I'm likely the best person to ask since almost everything I knit is lightweight yarn. :( Maybe get a couple of them finished up that are quick and then do something else with larger gauge yarn?
There is this great blog hop that I joined. It is called bowls with boarders. Regina came up with this great paper piece pattern - which I used to stack them this high. Please check out all the other bowls for today! Birgit H. Vicki B. Monika G. After that I decided my love of hexagons had to come out as well. This was an incredibly fun project! You should check out the rest of the bowls on the site. So impressive!
Yep. I have totally slacked on updates. I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff. But it has been a hot minute since I posted. Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things. A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year. Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work. Now for the bad. I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me. One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful). In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy. Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete. I might swap the sweater pattern. The plan for the week is coming together!
Well I did it again. No I didn't cut my finger with the rotary blade - but I might as well have. In an attempt to get my big spinning wheel working I was testing out some fiber - when all of a sudden the whole flyer and bobbin came off and slammed into my big toes. I'm pretty sure it is broken or really badly bruised. I've been icing it and it hurts to walk. Again the hubby wonders why hobbies are so violent! Ps - I know I have ugly toes...get over it, they are feet!
As the queen of ADD knitting, I will advise you to cast on something new.

ReplyDeleteHmm, difficult. But I would say have a little something in a larger gauge as well, then you can knit what you feel like. Works for me. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you should have something in a heavier yarn, for instant gratification. It will help you push through the other WIPs.
