Ever Made.



Have you ever tried to make a NON-Lace scarf out of sock yarn? I'd like to make a scarf for Mike and I'd like to use this yarn. I've cast on 60 stitches and am doing K3,P1 across ... but I'm now thinking (on size 2 needles) that this will take forever and be nothing special. Does anyone have any experience with non-lace scarfs out of something so fine?

    yes. You will finish next year and wonder why you spent so much time on it. Find a nice worsted for him.

    There are a bunch of fingering-weight scarves out there with more pattern oomph, but with the handpaint, I'm not sure that you'd see the pattern much. Are you 100% sold on the yarn?

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!

For those of you out there still wondering ... yes the Yogini sweater is coming along. I'm probably only 2 inches from finishing the second sleeve and then the trim. I know, I really should work harder to finish it!
