F.O. Woven Tibet Scarf



Another woven project finished. This is what I'm calling a Tibet scarf. The warp was done with nettle yarn and the weave is recycled silk (both out of Nepal). It was a relatively fast weave (started in December and finished Jan. 30). It is super thin and long (totally in right now). I'm also happy to see that Ravelry has a weaving project section. SWEET! More yardage out of the stash.

F.O. Stupidly Simple Shawl

I love putting FO in the subject line. Makes me feel like I've done something good! Project Details: Started on March 6th and finished on June 5th. Longer than one would think - but this was the car or doctor's office project. Not something I worked on all the time. I used 6 skeins of Bristol Yarn Gallery Buckingham Fingering alpaca yarn held together. Well I held two strands together (not all 6 at one time). This gave me the weight I wanted and it still drapes well I think. The pattern is really only 2 sentences long. I used size 7 needles and didn't change anything from the pattern. It was really a fun project!

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!
