Spinning Friday - That's Right!



Remember - this is what the roving looked like. Great BFL called Storybooks from Christina Marie Potter.

Here is the finished product. 3 plyed and I did something different with how I spun it up. I wanted to get the colors to be as long as possible - so I didn't do anything with the roving. I took it out of the bag - broke it into 3 and then worked very very hard to spin it up with the solid color held together so that the colorway would be nice and long. I was expecting the colors to have been much much brighter in the final product and was super surprised to see how mellow it came out. 294 yards of fun ... now I just need to figure out what to do with it!

I'm excited to finally have something to post on a spinning Friday. Thank goodness!

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!

For those of you out there still wondering ... yes the Yogini sweater is coming along. I'm probably only 2 inches from finishing the second sleeve and then the trim. I know, I really should work harder to finish it!
