OMG - 2 oz seems so hard.




I've never felt like a roving took so long. I'm only 2 oz into this 4 oz bag and am amazed at how slow I am. I'm loving the final product ... but can someone put a rocket up my bum to help me spin faster?

    Really? On my symphony, I can get 4 oz done in an afternoon! But I really crank on the darned thing.

    I have a question bout it though. The treadles have started to squeak and I'm oiled everything I can find to oil. Has this happened to you?

    Wow. I have never spun that fine, but one day, one day I will. When I grow the patience, I suppose!

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!

For those of you out there still wondering ... yes the Yogini sweater is coming along. I'm probably only 2 inches from finishing the second sleeve and then the trim. I know, I really should work harder to finish it!
