FO Gemini Top

Project Details: I started this top on February 26 and finished yesterday (March 23rd).  It wasn't a hard or long project.  It is done top down and has this little lace pattern of the shoulders.  I didn't do the lace on the third side (because I thought it would be too open).  I used my own hand dyed yarn (which is 70% alpaca and 30% silk).  The yarn has a great feel but I think drapes too much for this top.  The sleeves came out way to big for me and the top overall drapes and doesn't fit my body right.  I think I'm going to give this to my sister who is a bit bigger than me.

I was hoping for a spring top.  Maybe I'll have to work on something else!

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!

When Crafting Goes Bad Part II

Well I did it again. No I didn't cut my finger with the rotary blade - but I might as well have. In an attempt to get my big spinning wheel working I was testing out some fiber - when all of a sudden the whole flyer and bobbin came off and slammed into my big toes. I'm pretty sure it is broken or really badly bruised. I've been icing it and it hurts to walk. Again the hubby wonders why hobbies are so violent! Ps - I know I have ugly toes...get over it, they are feet!
