FO First Ever Handspun Sweater



Project Details:
I started this project on August 1st 2016 and finished on March 14th.  I picked it up and put it down.  I frogged and started over.  I didn't like the neck on the original pattern and re-made it.  I tried to take into consideration how this was going to drape (since it is handspun 60% alpaca and 40% silk).  I knit it a bit shorter than I would normal and blocked it to pull the lace pattern out.


I am loving the weight and feel of this.  I'm still trying to decide if I want a button at the top or just let it fall open or a pin.  Ideas?

Weeks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26

Yep.  I have totally slacked on updates.  I’ve been actively working down my year of project stuff.  But it has been a hot minute since I posted.  Let’s cover the good. I finished a few things.  A sweater (Sylvia) that has been on the needles for a year.  Roving that has been sitting for a year and the Hitchhikers shawl that was part of my planned year of project work.   Now for the bad.  I have two projects on my year of project list that just aren’t speaking to me.  One is a pair of mittens on fingering weigh and the other is fingerless mitts (which the pattern is just painful).   In the new year I plan to assess what is working and what I’m hating and focus on the things I enjoy.  Life is too short to work on projects we hate! On my list for yop I still have 3 official projects to complete.  I might swap the sweater pattern.  The plan for the week is coming together!

I took this photo just so you couldn't make out the colorway or really much of the pattern. Just a sneaky little shot to show you something that I'm currently working on. For those of you out there still wondering ... yes the Yogini sweater is coming along. I'm probably only 2 inches from finishing the second sleeve and then the trim. I know, I really should work harder to finish it!
